ACE offers an array of insurance programs and services to satisfy the unique needs of a wide range of boat owners.  From the smallest runabout to the largest luxury yacht, ACE gives you the option of tailoring your coverage with highly individualized protection to match your needs.

Boatsman® / Yachtsman® Policy – ACE's Boatsman Policy for boats under 27 feet in length, and the Yachtsman Policy for power or sailing yachts 27 feet or larger, are distinctive programs for insuring vessels used for private pleasure purposes. Each policy provides broad protection at competitive rates, along with liberal navigational limits.

Charter Policy – ACE’s Charter policy provides comprehensive coverage for vessels chartered for private pleasure purposes, with six or fewer passenger and a licensed captain on board.  Bareboat chartered sailboats are also eligible for this program.

Performance Boat Policy  – The Performance Boat Policy is our insurance program for insuring high performance recreational boats with speeds of 60 mph or greater.  This program was designed to meet the unique insurance needs of high performance boat enthusiasts throughout the country.

Personal Watercraft Policy  – ACE offers premier coverage and competitive rates for owners of Personal Watercraft (PWCs). Coverage while afloat, ashore or being transported by trailer anywhere within the continental Unites States, Alaska, Hawaii or Canada helps minimize the worry and hassle of finding the right coverage.

Boatsman® / Yachtsman®

Physical Loss or Damage

Provides coverage for accidental, direct physical loss or damage from an external cause, as well as salvage charges, with few exclusions. Coverage applies to the vessel itself and includes sails, machinery and other equipment normally required for the operation and maintenance of the vessel.  Hull coverage is “agreed value’ on total losses and replacement cost (with no depreciation) on most partial losses, subject to a deductible.

Liability

Covers the insured’s liability for property damage, bodily injury or death of another person, as well as pollution or contamination, resulting from the ownership or use of the insured vessel. Also covered are legal defense costs, the cost of wreck removal when required by law, and the owner’s liability to any paid crew, including Jones Act coverage.

Medical Payments

This coverage pays for reasonable medical expenses resulting from injuries sustained by the boat owner, guest or family members while on, boarding or leaving the covered vessel.

Uninsured Boater Coverage

Uninsured Boater benefits cover damages resulting from bodily injuries received aboard the insured vessel that its owner is legally entitled to recover from an uninsured owner or operator of another vessel.

Federal Longshoremen's and Harbor Workers' Compensation

When liability coverage is purchased, coverage is automatically provided for those employed aboard the vessel who are within the jurisdiction of the Federal Longshoremen’s and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act.

Personal Property Coverage

Personal property belonging to a boat owner and his/her family is covered, with optional protection available for guests and volunteer crew.  Property is covered while aboard the covered vessel and while being loaded and unloaded, subject to a deductible.

Towing & Assistance Coverage

Reimbursement for emergency commercial towing service up to $1,500, with no deductible.

Vessel Trailer Coverage

Provides coverage for loss or damage to the vessel’s trailer, subject to a deductible, when used exclusively for transporting the covered vessel within the permitted mileage range.

Charter Policy – Features & Benefits

Uninsured Boater benefits cover damages resulting from bodily injuries received aboard the insured vessel that its owner is legally entitled to recover from an uninsured owner or operator of another vessel.

Performance Boat Program

Physical Loss or Damage

Provides coverage for accidental, direct physical loss or damage to the insured vessel while afloat, ashore or in transit within 250 miles of the owner’s home address, subject to exclusions.  Coverage is provided on an actual cash value basis for both total and partial losses.  Mysterious disappearance and/or theft without visible signs of forced entry are excluded.  Loss or damage to machinery inside or outside the vessel and any salvage charges are limited to 25% of the property damage coverage limit.  Minimum deductible is 3% of the insuring amount or $1,000 whichever is greater.  Named operator exclusion applies.

Liability

Covers the insured’s liability for property damage, bodily injury or death of another person resulting from the ownership or use of the insured vessel. Also covered are legal defense costs, pollution & contamination, and the cost of wreck removal when required by law.  The owner’s liability to any paid crew is not covered under this policy.

Personal Watercraft Policy Features

  • Multiple PWCs may be insured on a single policy (Note: If more than one unit is to be insured, please call for a quote.)
  • Automatic coverage for PWC trailers at no additional charge
  • $500 Personal Property coverage
  • $150 Commercial Towing & Assistance
  • Liability limits available to satisfy most Personal Umbrella policies
  • Uninsured Boater coverage limit equal to Liability limit
  • $1,000 Medical Payments, with higher optional limits available
